Sofia Iordanidou

Dr. Iordanidou’s formal education is on Italian and English Language and Literature. She received a postgraduate degree in Comparative Literature and a Ph.D. titled “Pirandello in Greece”.

She has extensive work experience in Journalism and Strategic Communication. The volume of her academic research is: (a) on the field of Journalism and Media Studies with a focus on the challenges posed to the journalistic profession by the digital era and social media and (b) on the field of strategic communication. She has recently concluded three research projects: on political rhetoric in Greece and Cyprus; on the images of nations in news media, an intercultural content analysis; on nation and place branding.  Currently she is conducting two research projects:  Developing Life Long Learning in a Field Undergoing a Paradigmatic Shift: The Role of Distance Learning Institutions and the Crisis of Journalismand “Communication Education and Media Literature: Strategies, Contents and Effects”.
